Strengthening Families Workers

We are currently seeing to appoint enthusiastic and dedicated Strengthening Families Workers to join our team. As a Strengthening Families Worker you will work directly with children, young people and their families in order to promote, strengthen and to develop the potential of parents/carers and their children while working in a wide variety of settings across the City. The successful candidate will undertake a preventative approach to ensure children and young people are supported and prevent them suffering significant harm and/or becoming looked after, while ensuring they are working towards a whole family approach of support. In addition the post holder will manage a caseload of casework and group work and adopt a flexible and creative approach to managing this workload.

We are seeking to appoint dedicated and enthusiastic Service Development Officers. As a Service Development Officer you will support the Senior Managers in developing priorities for defined areas based on robust qualitative and quantitative intelligence in regards to children, young people and families across the city. In addition the successful candidate will provide support to Senior Managers in researching and understanding current best practice and research to underpin approaches and provide evidence on local trends. Strengthening Families Delivery Manager

We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic Strengthening Families Delivery Managers. The post holder will use their knowledge of children, young people and families to support and manage a staff team, including those who carry out casework with children and their families. The successful candidate would provide encouragement to Strengthening Families Workers to be creative and innovative in their approaches to working with families in order to achieve sustained change and outcomes. As well as ensuring that casework is maintained and improved to support the independence, wellbeing and security of service users and the community. The post holder will also contribute to the overall strategic and operational development of the Strengthening Families Hub and its services. In addition the Strengthening Families Delivery Manager will work within a multi-disciplinary management team and contribute to providing a fully integrated service for children and families as well as providing support to the Strengthening Families Partnership Manager in their absence.

We are currently seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and proactive Intensive Youth Support Worker. The successful candidate will use their extensive knowledge of children, young people and families to provide youth work support for young people on the edge of care as part of a holistic package of family support in order to prevent family breakdown. The Intensive Youth Support Worker will also work closely with practitioners from other professions within a multi-agency context to ensure a coherent approach to youth support. The post holder will plan, supervise and assess contact between children and their parents or extended family with the aim of achieving high quality, safe contact as well as developing and promoting programmes of social education, activities, support, advice and information for young people within the context of a whole family casework approach.

EHE & Travelling Children Support Officer

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated EHE & Travelling Children Support Officer with responsibility for the coordination and oversight of Elective Home Education across the city. The post holder will also act as a specialist officer in the area of Elective Home Education as well as increasing levels of engagement in education within the travelling community. Utilising their knowledge of the Education system the successful candidate will be expected to ensure that Elective Home Education is developed and delivered within the statutory framework as required, fulfilling the LA responsibilities in this area as well as providing appropriate and specialist advice and guidance to schools, families and other services regarding Elective Home Education. The EHE & Travelling Children Support Officer will also be responsible for ensuring travelling children passing through Wolverhampton are provided with education. As such Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) would be required. In the first instance the post is advertised as full time however term time working hours would be considered.

Missing Return Officer

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Missing Return Officer to be responsible for ensuring the city has a co-ordinated response to missing children. The successful candidate will ensure missing return interviews are completed with young people and that this is done in line with statutory guidance. In addition the Missing Return Officer will provide appropriate and specialist advice and guidance to other practitioners about young people who go missing. The post holder will also have responsibility to assess levels of risk for issues that affect young people e.g. child sexual exploitation, gangs/ youth violence, lack of educational engagement, to ensure effective support is provided in order to improve outcomes. The Missing Return Officer will work effectively and in partnership with key services and agencies to ensure vulnerable young who go missing are monitored and supported in line with statutory guidance.

Behaviour & Attendance Co-ordinator

We are seeking to appoint Behaviour & Attendance Co-ordinator to lead on all statutory matters relating to Pupil Registration, Exclusions and Children Missing Education. The successful candidate will be the lead officer for ensuring that all statutory matters relating to pupil attendance, registration, exclusions and Children Missing Education are dealt with appropriately. The post will supervise and manage the Behaviour and Attendance officers to ensure high quality casework in addition to monitoring the data for the city around attendance and exclusions to ensure concerns are highlighted and good practice shared. The Behaviour & Attendance Co-ordinator will also oversee all work relating to Children Missing Education and will be the named contact on the national CME database. We deliver a traded service of attendance support to the city. The successful candidate will take a lead in promoting the traded support package to schools and oversee the operational delivery of this service.
